What is a Shadow Day? A shadow day is an opportunity for a junior high school student to visit Benet Academy for a day. Seventh and eighth grade students are welcome to visit Benet between September and April.
Whom can I shadow? Typically, shadows are paired with a Benet freshman and attend classes as if they were a Benet student. Although the Admissions Office cannot guarantee it, if you know a student that you would like to shadow, please inform us at the time you make your appointment.
What time should I arrive at Benet, and where should I go? Shadows should be dropped off at the Large Gym entrance on the west side of the campus. Shadows should then report to the Dean’s Office where they will be paired with their host student.
What should I wear? Benet Academy students adhere to a uniform dress code. We ask that shadows adhere to our dress code.
No jeans, gym shoes, T-shirts, sweat pants, sweat shirts, mid-drift tops are allowed. Shadows will not be allowed to attend classes if they are inappropriately dressed.
What should I bring? Shadows should bring a book to read or a folder with something to work on as some classes may be having a test, quiz, or an assignment to work on during your visit. If you feel comfortable doing so, feel free to participate in class during your visit.
What do I do for lunch? Lunch is provided for shadows in the Benet cafeteria. Shadows will be given a voucher to use in the cafeteria to purchase a lunch.
