Radio
- Relevant Radio: Catholic Talk Radio at AM 820 in Chicago and
AM 930 in the Western suburbs of Chicago
- Shine.fm – Music for Generation NOW:
A Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) station primarily
of current, edgy, pop/rock styles though with the occasional talk segment.
At FM 89.7 (WONU) it is the radio station of
Olivet Nazarene University
so that it occasionally programs ONU’s sports events (football, basketball instead of music).
- K-Love – Postive & Encouraging:
A national network of CCM stations whose FM 94.3 station (WJKL)
is easiest to get in Chicago and its suburbs. This station is more middle of the road
Praise & Worship style than Shine.fm.
- WBGL – Family Friendly:
A midwest network of Christian stations originating from
its station in the Champaign-Urbana, IL area. Much of the programming is CCM similar
to K-Love, but WBGL has more talk shows interspersed, particularly near meal times.
Their FM 104.7 station (WCFL) covers Chicago and its suburbs.
TV
- EWTN: Mother Angelica's Eternal World Television Network, the
far and away most popular and well-known Catholic television network. It is principally
on cable and the web.
- BCTV: A local, Catholic station in Boston, MA that also streams
on the web.
- TBN: Trinity Broadcasting Network
is perhaps the largest general Christian television network. Available in
various forms on air, on cable, and on the web. There are a few Catholic voices
among their programming.
