Overview:

Urban Immersion is a weekend opportunity for Benet students to spend time in the inner-city of Chicago where you would meet, observe and work with individuals confronting poverty, homelessness, etc.   This two-day service retreat consists of doing limited service work and learning about various social justice issues confronting us today.

The cost is $125 per person.

Examples of what you might do:

• Serve dinner in a homeless shelter

• Visit and play games with residents of nursing homes

• Sort donations at the Chicago Food Depository

• Go to Mass at an inner city parish

• Tutor students at an elementary school
