PACC
St. Mary’s University of Minnesota believes some of Benet Academy class offerings are worthy of college credit. These classes – AP Biology, AP Government, AP English, AP Calculus – may be taken for college credit through St. Mary’s. Students interested should talk to their respective teacher about enrolling in St. Mary’s program. Be aware that not all colleges will accept the St. Mary’s transcript so some caution must be exercised before one pays money to St. Mary’s. The due date for enrollment is September 20, 2013.

S.A.L.T.
Senior and Sophomore Homeroom Masses are today.

If you are an upperclassman and you are interested in being trained as a lector for All School Masses, please contact Mrs. Bedore.

SALT Life group will be partaking in the day of Remembrance for aborted children on September 14th at 2:00 at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.

SALT Dignity will be heading to Feed My Starving Children on Thursday, September 19th.

Register by September 16th to take a trip with SALT FORCE to Indianapolis to the 2013 National Catholic Youth Conference from November 21-24th.

SALT DIGNITY will be going to GIANT STEPS in Lisle to work with students with Autism. The training date for volunteering at Giant Steps is Tuesday, September 17th.

Registration for March for Life is now open on the Diocesan Website. Registration is on a first come first serve basis and did fill up last year so if you want to attend, register as soon as possible. A Benet registration form must also be submitted.

The challenge has gone out from Mr. Stracco's Freshman students to all other English I teacher for the The annual Preposition Competition.
No one has yet accepted the challenge.

Feel Good Story
Congratulations to the following Benet Boys Cross Country runners:

Senior. John Stoppleman, Junior Phil Parisi, and Junior Brady McLaughlin

These three Redwing runners served as good Samaritans on Labor day when they happened upon a man laying in the street next to his wheelchair With the help of another person at the scene, they helped lift the man back into his wheelchair while one of them stopped traffic until this act of compassion.

Way to go Redwings.

If any students are interested in helping broadcast Benet Academy games and events please see Scott Lawler in the athletic office. High School Cube will be here after school on Weds Sept 11th meet with students who would like to announce games, run camera or produce. The meeting will be on the stage behind the small gym.

Spring Musical
In preparation for the spring musical, 42nd Street - the music department is offering a tap refresher course on tuesday nights. We will begin next week on Tuesday, September, 17 at 7:00pm in St. Daniel Hall. Any interested student is welcome. See Mr. Wand or Ms. Condon with questions.

Book Club
The first meeting is Tuesday after school in Mr. Stracco’s room, M125.

Confession and Adoration
Taking place in the chapel today from Period F through Period I and after school until 3:30.

Cheerleading Coat Drive
The cheerleaders are sponsoring a coat drive next week to benefit Schools Count, an organization that provides coats to kids in need in Chicago's inner city schools. Donations of new or gently used coats in any size can be placed in the box outside the Dean's Office beginningon Monday.

Parent Get-Acquainted Night
Tonight is Parent Get-Acquainted night. Students you can help your parents by providing them with a copy of your class schedule since they will be following your daily schedule.

Encourage them to carpool with other parents if they are able since we are anticipating a large crowd and lots of cars. The program will begin promptly at6:30with Period A. and ends following Period I at8:45 pm.

Yackley Exit
This is a final reminder that the back driveway to Yackley is for Buses, delivery trucks and faculty/staff members. The only students who have special permission to use that driveway are members of the girls swim team, girls golf team, and boys golf team and in their cases ONLY on days in which their practice or meet schedules require it. Student drivers who use the back driveway illegally will be subject to discipline which may include suspension or forfeiture of the privilege.

Also, parents picking up their students are not permitted to use the back drive either to enter or exit campus.


Yearbook

SALT
All Students who are signed up for the SALT DIGNITY Our Lady of Angels trip to Chicago must turn in a permission slip to Mrs. Bedore before going on the trip. The bus will leave Benet at7:45 a.m.Please meet by the back doors near the cafeteria. We should arrive back to Benet around11:30.

Mass Choir is having rehearsals TODAY immediately after school at 3 and also tonight at6 p.m. for tomorrow'sall school mass. Meet us in the rehearsal room in St. Daniels Hall.

Math Team
Math Team will meet onTuesday September 3 at 3:10in room M225. Freshman are welcome. If you are interested in participating but cannot attend, please see Mr. Schacht.

Broadcasting Club

Mass
The weather forecast fortomorrowis 90 and humid. The Fr. Ronald gym may be hot during the all school masson Friday. Please consider before coming to school to eat a well-balanced breakfast, hydrate and wear short sleeves.
