SALT
Students signed up to volunteer at the National Alliance for Mentally Ill in Naperville this evening should pick up a permission slip from the bulletin board in Joseph's hall and turn it in to Mrs. Bedore before volunteering.

SALT's next Feed My Starving Children date isNovember 12th from 5:45-7:30. We will be packing Potato W manna packs for infants who are malnourished in third world countries. Sign up and permission slips are on the service bulletin board.

Students are also reminded that the Benet Student Handbook does not permit students to wear boots or athletic shoes in school.

Boys’ Lacrosse
The Boys Annual Redwing Lacrosse meeting, Lax to the Max, takes place next Tuesday, November 12, at7pmin St. Jude’s Hall. The meeting is mandatory for boys and their parents. Come meet the coaches, buy raffle tickets for great prizes, including Tama Lacrosse gear, and order the newest Spirit Wear. That’s next Tuesday at 7pm.

Applications for the Spring Break Mission Trip to Appalachia are dueNovember 15th.

SALT is having a meeting after school onTUESDAY November 5th at 3:30in J307. Were you in a fall sport and unable to attend previous SALT meetings? Its never too late to join SALT. Join us this time!

The training for Giant Steps school for Individuals with Autism in Lisle is scheduled for NEXTMONDAY, November 11th at 3:30. Students are trained at Giant Steps and then may sign up for volunteering after school according to what works for your schedule. Giant Steps can use 2 or 3 Benet volunteers most days of the week.

SALT is headed to Naperville onWednesday, November 6thfrom,6:45-8:15to socialize, craft, and enjoy a dessert with individuals living with mental illness.

All SALT Sign ups and permission slips are on the bulletin board in Joseph's hall.

NHS hours are given for all SALT service events.

The next issue will feature the Christmas drive and is due out prior to the break.

Guitar Club

Science Alliance
Today is the last day to sign up to do volunteer work this Sunday at the Morton Arboretum from1-3pm. All students are invited to help out in this service project. Girls' Cross Country - 37 girls still haven't turned in their uniforms. They were due a week ago. Please get them turned in.

Turkey Bowl

Benet Faculty and Students....A great job yesterday at the Open House. What a wonderful way to finish up a great weekend for Benet Academy. The enthusiasm that our faculty and student body providedon Sundaywas fantastic...and truly made a difference.

We need one more great day Redwings. Our second Open House will betomorrow from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Sign up sheets for student workers are on the bulletin board outside of the Recruitment Office. We need more students, especially tour guides. Those students who did tours yesterday are especially encouraged to sign up.

SALT is looking for volunteers to help hang up birthday signs before school. For more information contact Nicole Zolman or Marisa Hanlon.

The sign up is out for SALT Dignity's trip to Our Lady of Angels onNovember 2ndto distribute food to families in need in Chicago AND for SALT Life's trip to the Aanchor clinic in Glen Ellyn onSaturday, November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.Transportation from Benet is available for both events. Save the date and make plans to join us for one of these great events!

NOW is the time to register if you are planning on going on March for Life this January, please remember to register as soon as possible with the diocese and turn your Benet registration in to Mrs. Bedore.

Applications for the spring break mission trip to Appalachia are available in Mrs. Bedore's office or at the bulletin board in St. Joseph's hall, all Sophomores through seniors are invited to apply. The deadline for applications isNovember 15th.


Library
The Library and Multimedia will be closed right after schoolon Thursday. However, the Writer's Lab will remain open after school.

Faculty Student Softball Game
The Faculty-Student softball game has been rescheduled forthis Thursday at 4:30. The game will take place on the freshman baseball field. Team registration forms are available in the Dean's office. Even if you filled out a form for the last game, you need to fill one out and resubmit it. Forms are due in the Dean's Office by the end of the dayon Wednesday.

Senior Yearbook Information
1. Posted outside the Dean's Office is a list of seniors who turned in their yellow forms for personalization of the yearbook. Please proof how your name is spelled and icons selected. Errors due to S207 byNov. 1, 2013. No refunds for errors once order is placed.

2. All seniors were billed for a yearbook. There is a second list of seniors who did NOT turn in the yellow form. Your yellow form is past due. If it is not turned in byOct 15th, you will receive a non-personalized book at the senior yearbook cost.
