AP test takers-
Please check the bulletin board outside the Deans office or outside the principals office for the date, location and report time for each one of your AP exams.
What to bring to the Exam Room:
1)several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers,NOmechanical pencils(multiple choice answer sheets)
2)black or blue ball point pens (free response questions and exam booklet covers)
3)a watch (to pace yourself during the exam)
4)an approved calculator is needed for Calculus, Physics, Statistics, and Chemistry –Up to two calculators with necessary capabilities (make sure you have new/good batteries)
5)a ruler or straightedge for Physics
6)a sweater, if you find SJC or the library to be cold
WhatNOTto bring to the Exam Room:
DoNOTbring cell phones, cameras or any electronic communication devices into the testing room.

ENTERING the Exam Room:

Library Fines
Seniors: All books and fines are due by May 16th! If you do not return your books or pay your fines, you will NOT receive your caps and gowns!
All other students: Books and fines are due by May 23rd.

We will have the final "THIRD Day reunion this Friday night at 7pm in chapel.

Benet Herald
The Benet Herald is now accepting applications for associate editor positions through Monday, May 13th. Job descriptions and application questions are available on Newspaper homepage on Edline. The newspaper will also be in need of writers, photographers, proofreaders, and individuals interested in layout and/or website design. If interested, please sign up via email withMrs. Peterson in Development or Mrs. Nadolski in Recruitment.

Prom
Tickets will continue to be sold for this year's prom all week in the cafeduring Lunch and Homeroom periods. Cost for this year's prom and post prom is $165. The FINAL day to buy tickets is this Friday, May 10th. You and your date must both turn in your permission forms in order to be able to purchase a ticket. Additionally, table reservation forms are due by this Wednesday. Forms can be picked up and turned into the dean's office.

CMAT

S.A.L.T. is heading over to Villa St. Benedict's this Wedensday, 8th AND next Wednesday, May 15th to socialize and play games with the residents. Sign-ups are on the service bulletin board.

Senor Frey and Mr. Frey are journeying to Guatamala this June for a mission trip where they will build a home for a Guatemalan family. For the first time, these homes will be built to include an indoor BATHROOM. Senor and Mr. Frey would love your help in supplying families there with the much needed supplies to stock their bathrooms. This would include shower curtains, shower curtain rings, Bath towels, hand towels, washrags, bottles of shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. Items may be place in the suitcases located in Martin's lobby or in Senor Frey or Mr. Frey's classrooms beginning next week, May 13th -May 17th.

Senior Brendan Caseria's State Championship performance led the Math Team to a 5th Place finishat Saturdays State MathTeam Finals in Champaign.

Just a reminder that Tuesday, May 7, is Senior Night for Boys Lacrosse. Join us at BU Stadium to honor the 12 Seniors with Bill Dorn, the voice of the Redwings, at 7:45 p.m. Immediately following the Senior Night Festivities, the Redwings will take on the Naperville North Huskies.

NHS is looking for volunteers to help make fleece blankets for Sharing Connections on Friday May 10th from 3:15 to 4:30 in the library. Sign up on the service bulletin board, and contact Courtney Oei if you have any questions.

CMAT
Mass is being celebrated during 9th period today.

S.A.L.T. is looking for people who would like to volunteer or participate in the Relay for Life on June 22nd at Naperville North. Some events at this year's relay are the Survivors' Lap, the Luminaria Ceremony, Pizza at midnight, Zumba, a Musical Chair Scavenger hunt and much more! See Maura Nolan or Mrs. Bedore for more information.


Students attending our lady of angels food pantry on Saturday should make sure to turn in their permission slips to Mrs. Bedore by Saturday morning and should be ready to board the bus by 7:45 Saturday morning. Dress for the weather!

Juniors applying to be an EMC should turn applications into the deans office todaybecause Mrs. Bedore is on the senior outing.

Mass is being celebrated during 4th period today.

Seniors who were Eucharistic Ministers this year, don't forget to meet in Mr. Kazlauskas' room today during your lunch and homeroom.

All juniors who are interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers for the 2013-14 school year, should fill out applications and turn them in to Mrs. Bedore by tomorrow.

There are spots still available for the Our Lady of Angels Clothing and Food Distribution in Chicago on Saturday, May 4th. Sign up and permission slips are by the service board.

Juniors--Mrs. Bedore is accepting applications for those interested in being Ministers of Communion until this Friday, May 3rd. Pick up your applications at the campus ministry office, dean's office or at the service board.

S.A.L.T. is meeting today after school in the cafeteria. Enjoy a snack while you get involved in all the exciting events coming up. S.A.L.T. is also attending the Alfred Rubin Drop-in center this evening from 6:45-8:15. Sign-up and permission forms are still available on the service board.

The sign-up for the trip to Our Lady of Angels this Saturday is on the service bulletin board. Spend your Saturday morning nourishing others with Christ's love!

Wewill be also begoingto the Naperville Drop In Center on Wednesday to assist adults with disabilities with an art project from 6:45-8:15 . Sign up and permission slips are available on the service board.

Join S.A.L.T. for the trip to Our Lady of Angels this Saturday, May 4th. We will depart from Benet at 7:45 to help transport & organize food and clothing for distribution to neighbors who are in need. After clean-up, we'll board the bus and arrive back at Benet at about 11:30. Sign-up is on the service board.

S.A.L.T. is participating in Relay for life on June 22nd at Naperville North High School. Joinour team of Benet students in celebrating cancer survivors, remembering those lost to cancer, and fighting back against cancer through moving ceremonies, fun activities, and live music and entertainment. Sign-up is going on now for those interested involunteering or participating. Contact Moira Nolan or Mrs. Bedore for details.

Attention Seniors... If you were not in your homeroom last week when the College Counselors passed out the College & Scholarship Surveys, please meet in M124 today during homeroom to complete your form.

NHS
Attention all NHS members: Tomorrow morning (Wednesday) we will have the elections for next year's NHS Executive Board! AllJuniorNHS members are expected to attend so you can vote. We will begin promptly at 7:00 in the St. Daniel Hall Rehearsal Room. SeniorNHS members do not need to attend the elections.

Girls’ Golf

GOOD LUCK to Claudia Dockery - she was selected as 1 of 12 finalists for BEST ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE in the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards for her portrayal of Maria in "The Sound of Music".

She competes today in Chicago with the other finalists.

If she wins, she goes to New York for the National competition!!

Remember that there is a mandatory meeting tomorrow morning, Tuesday April 30, at 7:10am in room M26. If you applied for an appointed position, but are not running for anelectedposition, you do not need to attend this meeting.


Girls’ Golf
Anyone interested in trying out for the Girls' Golf Team in the fall, please attend an information meeting on Wednesday after school in the cafeteria.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer
The Benet Girls’ Varsity Soccer team invites you to come watch them play Marion Catholic this Wednesday, May 1st, at Benedictine University at 6:30.


Senior Outing

Sign up sheets for busses for the senior outing are posted on the SG window. You must have already turned in your permission form and money to sign up for a bus. These sheets will be taken down on Monday, so sign up soon to guarantee a seat with your friends.


Boys’ Lacrosse Senior Night
Just a reminder that Tuesday, May 7, is Senior Night for Boys Lacrosse. Join us at BU Stadium to honor the 12 Seniors with Bill Dorn, the voice of the Redwings, at 7:45 p.m. Immediately following the Senior Night Festivities, the Redwings will take on the Naperville North Huskies.


Art Club
Art Club will meet tomorrow at 3:15 in room T116. Bring materials for your Cornell Memory Box and think about what you want to submit to the Art Show in Sunday.

Guitar Club
Guitar Club, along with special guests Art Club and Muse, will be holding a Spring Concert this Sunday, May 5th. The doors of St. Daniel's Hall will open at 5:00 pm so that people can view art pieces prior to the show's prompt start at 5:30.

Mass is being offered during 9th period.

Attention all Students who planned on attending candy days for Misericordia today at the United Center. Misericordia has cancelled their request for Benet's help at the United Center this evening. Opportunities for those who were already signed up to help with Candy Days todayis available tomorrow. Please see Mrs. Bedore or Ms. Condonif you are interested.

The next S.A.L.T. meeting is being held Wednesday, May 1st in the cafeteria at 3:00. Get ready for yet another salty snack and find out more news on whatS.A.L.T. has to offer.S.A.L.T. we're all aboutraising your faith,NOT your blood pressure!

AP Tests
This is just a reminder that you have until May 1st to cancel an AP exam to receive the $76 refund after that date you lose the entire amount. If you are planning on canceling an exam please bring Mr. Oconer a signed parent not stating that you have permission to drop the exam.

Autism Walk

Reconciliation and Adoration are available from 12:40-3:30 in the chapel.

All students currently signed up for the BLACKHAWKS Misericordia event this Friday, April 26th, CHECK YOU BENET emailTODAY for important details on the trip.

Serving and Loving Together-S.A.L.T. will be going to the Naperville Drop In Center to assist adults with disabilities on Wednesday, May 1st from 6:00-8:30. NAMI has been operating for 20 years providing a warm meal andrecreation for adults suffering with mental illness. Your presence andsmileon Wednesday evening can be a bright spot in someone's day! Sign up andpermission slips are at the Service Board in Joseph hall.

Applications for Juniors who would like to be Eucharistic Ministers next year are due Friday, May 3rd. Applications are available in the Dean's Office,Mrs. Bedore's office, and at the service board.
