Variety Show

Variety Show program book pictures will be taken TODAY IMMEDIATELY after school and tomorrow at 7:20 a.m. in St. Daniel's Hall. Each act must be present for one of these days to be pictured in the program book. See Annie Hennessy or Isabelle Hanson for questions.

Book Club

There will be a book club meeting in Mr. Stracco's room M125 Wednesday after school. The book will be discussing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Newcomers are always welcome.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The Girls Lacrosse games vs. Whitney Young have been cancelled due to snowy weather.  They will be rescheduled!  Pictures for Varsity and JVA are still on.  Meet in the lobby right after school in your uniforms..

BIFF
Benet's independent film festival will take place tonight at 6 pm in the cafeteria.

SALT

Villa St. Benedict residents have enjoyed their visits from Benet students and are hoping for more!  Angel visits are continuing after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Sign ups are available for this week and for April.

SALT will be serving lunch at Hesed House on Sunday, April 13th (Palm Sunday) and we need your help providing the meal, the desserts, and the friendly hospitality that day! NHS hours will be given for cooking, baking, and serving!

Spirit Store

The Spirit Store will be open after school today in the lobby.

Digital Media Workshop

Any sophomore or junior interested in going to a free, 5 day, digital media workshop at Loyola University this summer should pick up an application in the CCC.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The Varsity and JVA Girls Lacrosse games are on for today at Glenbard South.  JVA plays at 6:30 and Varsity at 7:45 against York.

Ball boys or girls are needed for all girls soccer home games! Start signing up now!

AP Registration
AP registration closes at 3pm today.

Please follow the directions that were given to you at the AP registration meeting.  You MUST click on the AP Registration Bar below the AP pre-admin sessions to expand the window to show all of the AP options.  Your registration is not complete unless you have clicked on the exams you want to take.

Film Festival

The Benet Independent Film Festival will take place on tuesday the 25th at 7:30 pm. Admission is free. So is guaranteed entertainment. Spielberg did it so you should too. BIFF!

Service Hour Opportunities
Freshmen:

You have one year to get your 12 service hours needed to apply to the NHS and current NHS members you have until the end of this semester to get your 10 hours! See Mrs. Arthurs in S202 ASAP.

We have openings this Fri and Sat for ushers at the musical.  If you are not going downstate, please consider helping out.

Earn NHS Hours by working as an usher at next week's choir concerts.  Two hour shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are available.  Sign up through Mrs. Rogalski in M120. 

Broadcasting Club
There will be a Broadcasting Club Meeting next tuesday before school at 7:25.

Benet Broadcasting...Vladimir Putin aproves, meaning you should too.

College Fair

The North Central College fair takes place next Monday, March 24. Over 200 colleges will be represented. Pick up a list of the attending colleges in the CCC.

Fan Buses

For those of you who signed up for fan buses, final lists are posted on the SG office window. Please check to make sure that you are signed up. YOU CANNOT SWITCH THE BUS THAT YOU ARE ON! However, if you turned in your form and do not see your name, please see Mr. Frey or Mr. Veselik before the end of 6th period today.

For those of you taking tonight's fan bus, please make sure that you are here by 4:30. Buses will leave promptly at 4:30 from the Martin's Lobby parking lot, and if you're not here, you'll miss your ride. For those of you taking tomorrow's fan bus, please note that if we lose tonight, the bus will leave at 3:30 pm. If we win, it will leave at 5:00 pm. Again, buses will leave promptly at those times so make sure you are here.

Finally, if you are taking a bus down to the game, you MUST take it back. Thanks, and Go Redwings!

State Basketball

A reminder to students that the basketball games in Peoria are a school-sponsored event from the moment you leave to go there until you get back following the tournament. Therefore, all student handbook policies apply.as does our Extra-curricular Activities code. Let's show people at the games and those watching the games on television why Benet fans are the best in the state.

Due to the limited number of pre-sale tickets given to each school, it is likely that your best chance of buying tickets for this weekend's games will be by calling the Peoria Civic Center Box Office at (309) 673-3200. The boys lacrosse season is about to begin! The Varsity Redwings start off the season today at Stevenson High School. And this weekend, they’ll participate in the North/South Shootout at Wheaton Warrenville South, a tournament they won last year! Go and check them out!

Tickets will be sold at school to basketball and cheerleader families, and juniors and seniors today during lunch periods. Tickets will be sold after school today and before school tomorrow morning. Tickets will not be sold tomorrow after the school day starts.

Student tickets are $8.50. Any remaining tickets in the parent sections will be $10.50.

Friday is a regular school day with dismissal at the usual time of 2:59.

Spring Musical
The Cast of the Musical would like to congratulate the boys basketball team on their win last night.  Any students who purchased tickets for Friday's performance of 42nd Street, but would now like to go cheer on the basketball team, can exchange their ticket for either of the Thursday performances. Students must bring their tickets with them to exchange.  Tickets may be exchanged or purchased every school day between 11am and 1pm in the lobby of St. Martin Hall.

Science Alliance
Science Alliance will meet tomorrow in Room T112 at 3:15.  All members are invited to come to celebrate the victories that students achieved at last Saturday's tournament and of all this year's competitions.  Pizza will be served!!

Sign up at the service board in St. Joseph's for Villa St. Benedict's game day on Wednesday, Marcy 19th or Angel Visits any Tuesday-Thursday after school.

SALT will be taking a prayer journey on the labyrinth tomorrow, Thursday, after school.  Destination?  God!  Join us in the chapel to experience this wonderful form of prayer.

Science Alliance
All Science Alliance members are invited to this week's meeting which will be held on Thursday instead of Wednesday due to faculty meetings being held tomorrow.

The meeting will be held at 3:15 in Room T112.  Refreshments will be served. 

SALT
Thursday after school, SALT will offer and opportunity to learn about Labyrinth prayer and walk the labyrinth in the chapel.  Take the time this Lent to experience a form of prayer that helps lift mind, body, and spirit to the Lord. 

There is a meeting after school today in J307 for all students attending the Spring Break trip to Appalachia.

The Kiwani Pancake Festival at Naperville Central is on March 15th and is in need of volunteers! There are two 3 hour shifts to help out with this event. Volunteers will receive a complementary breakfast as well! Sign up on the service bulletin board and ends March 10th. Contact Alicia Krebs with any questions.

Boys’ Basketball

Tickets for the sectional semifinal against Hinsdale Central Tuesday night are on sale today during homeroom/lunch periods and after school.  All ticket prices are $5.00.  Game time is 7:00 pm at East Aurora High School

Hockey
Thanks to all of the students who came out on Saturday night to cheer their hockey team on in the Kennedy cup finals!  Tonight the Team takes on Providence in the elite eight State playoff game at the Edge Ice arena in Bensenville at 835pm

NHS Service Hour Opportunity

The Kiwani Pancake Festival at Naperville Central is on March 15th and is in need of volunteers! There are two 3 hour shifts to help out with this event. Volunteers will receive a complementary breakfast as well! Sign up on the service bulletin board and ends March 10th. Contact Alicia Krebs with any questions.

Boys’ Basketball

Tickets for the sectional semifinal against Hinsdale Central Tuesday night will go on sale today during homeroom/lunch periods and after school, and again tomorrow during homeroom/lunch periods and after school.  All ticket prices are $5.00.  Game time is 7:00 pm at East Aurora High School

Student Government
The variety show is coming up fast. Auditions are on March 17 & 18. The forms are in the Deans office and will be due THIS FRIDAY the 7th.

-Do you know what BIFF is? It's BENET'S INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL. Forms are in the Dean's office. Submit your video by MARCH 17.
