The Benet Academy National Honor Society sponsored a slop
day fundraiser on Friday, February 15. For
a minimum donation of $3 students were allowed to wear jeans or sweat
pants, tee shirts or sweatshirts, and gym shoes or sandals instead of
their uniform. About $3,500 was
raised.
The money raised will be sent to the following causes: 1.)
Misericordia Home in Chicago, a residential community which supports
developmentally disabled persons and 2.) Friends of Operation Care Abroad, a
non-profit organization providing free anesthesia and surgical services in the Philippines.
