ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB NEWS

At Benet we recycle paper and cardboard in all classrooms and aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles in the cafeteria and senior lounge. We also collect used printer cartridges for recycling. See your science teacher.  I will collect batteries (size D and smaller). Please help support our recycling efforts. At the end of the school year we also collect discarded usable paper, notebooks and books from lockers. These are donated to local pantries and "Tools for Schools" for distribution to needy communities.

Did you know that there is a free disposal site for household hazardous waste (batteries, fluorescent light, oil based paints, varnish, cleaning solvents, etc) in Naperville? It is open on Saturdays and Sundays.Call 682-7373 for information.

Are you looking for a service activity to use up your free time on Thursday afternoons? We meet every Thursday that school meets at 2:45 pm in T113. It involves 30-45 minutes, depending on the number of persons. New members from all grade levels are welcome. No tryouts required.

Make sure to record your hours on our roster for NHS credit. Any questions, see Mrs. Arthurs in T113.

We need new members for 2007-08!!                    ATTENTION FRESHMAN: YOU CAN START ACCUMULATING NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SERVICE HOURS THIS YEAR. DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!
