Ethan Ortiz

Ethan Ortiz of Hinsdale passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2026. He was born in Chicago on May 11, 2007, to Erwin Ortiz and Natasha Phillips. Ethan was a graduate of St. Isaac Jogues School, Benet Academy Class of 2025, and a current student at University of Illinois Grainger School of Engineering. Ethan loved building Legos, spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, and his faith. He is survived by his loving parents Erwin and Natasha. Beloved brother of Anika and Caleb. Dear grandson of Edilberto and Carmelita Ortiz and Rohan and Merle Phillips. Bonus grandson of Larry Hebda. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his great grandmother Mary Phillips, great aunt Aurora Mangahas, and bonus grandmother Debbie Hebda. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 3-7pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St., Willowbrook, IL 60527. A celebration of life mass will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 4th and Clay St, Hinsdale, IL 60521. Interment private at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Guatemala Project. He will be so missed but remain in such great love in our hearts forever.
