As the first concrete was poured for the modernization of Baumgartner-Gilbert Stadium, we marked this long-awaited moment with prayer and a sacred act of faith — placing a Miraculous Medal and medals of St. Benedict within the foundation. The placement of the Miraculous Medal is a long-treasured tradition of Walsh Construction, serving as a constant reminder of their devotion to each project and the people whose hard work make it possible.
In the words of St. Benedict:
“First of all, every time you begin a good work, you must pray to God most earnestly to bring it to perfection.”
With grateful hearts, we give thanks for the generosity, vision, and dedication that have brought us to this moment. We ask God's blessing upon all those bringing this project to life and entrust its completion to His loving care.
More than a new stadium, we are building a place where future generations of Redwings will compete, celebrate, gather, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
St. Benedict and St. Scholastica, pray for us.
