  • Athletic Band

As a College Prep program, an important part of the curriculum is athletic bands and the technical skills that students gain from participation. The Marching Redwings have a 3-Generation tradition of excellence. Founded by Andy Marchese, the band continues to entertain crowds at home football games, basketball games, and Naperville’s Last Fling Parade.
  • Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the ensemble for students who play a wind instrument. The majority of the year is spent on traditional concert music.

  • Jazz Band

The Jazz program is for students who enjoy the jazz idiom. The ensemble meets before school and performs throughout the school year.
  • Percussionists

Students who play percussion rehearse in a separate class - Percussion Techniques - but perform in all the same ensembles as the Wind Ensemble.
  • Piano & Guitar

Students who play piano & guitar are invited to participate in the Jazz program, Liturgical Music, and the Musical. In addition, piano students are invited to learn to accompany the choirs and have the opportunity to perform as a member of those ensembles.
Guitar students are encouraged to participate in Guitar Club which meets frequently throughout the school year and sponsors a Guitar Show at the end of each semester.

Orchestra

The string program was founded in 2005 by Mr. Wand as a small group to accompany the Concert Chorale on their performance of Mozart’s Requiem. The students decided they wanted to continue playing as an ensemble and formalized the group into the Chamber Orchestra.

Today, there are 2 levels of string ensemble as well as the opportunity for beginners to learn a string instrument. The Symphony Strings and Chamber Strings offer a variety of performance opportunities from chamber groups, to full string ensembles and collaborating with the band to perform full symphonic works, and they still collaborate with the choral program to perform masterworks.

Liturgical Music

Mass Choir is a Student-Run Choir that provides music for the All-School Masses and for some special liturgies. Any student may sing with the Mass Choir at any mass, they just need to attend the rehearsals.

Instrumentalists are also invited to participate in the Liturgical Orchestra - strings, wind instruments, pianists, guitarists, and percussion - all welcome to participate.

Musical

Instrumentalists are invited to audition to perform in the Pit Orchestra for the Musical - strings, wind instruments, percussion, pianists, and guitarists - are all needed for shows.

Choir

In addition to our curricular offerings of Freshman Choir, Sophomore Choir, and Concert Chorale, the Madrigal Singers are Benet’s a cappella group. They perform around the Chicagoland area as well as Nationally and have toured internationally. Most recently they won 1st place in a national competition sponsored by Classical Singer Magazine.
